Tayàw, small fiddle. The resonator shaped like a pair of bellows with a rounded back, probably made from one piece of wood. The back is rounded with a central spine that continues up the neck. The soundboard is replaced by a membrane(?). The joint between the membrane and the ribs is protected by a decorative bead. The peg box is scroll-shaped and enriched by gables of foliage. The finial is in the form of a parrot. Three small pegs, one enters from the left, the other two from the right. No nut. The three gut strings are tied to a terminal knob. The bridge is flat and deeply slotted. The instrument is painted black over a red ground, producing an aubergine shade. The peg box and finial are predominantly gilt, with red details and there is decoration in gold on the body.
