Engraving on a walrus tusk depicting domestic, fishing and hunting scenes highlighted in black pigment. Scenes engraved on each side of the tusk are described in the 1909 annual report as follows: '(a) Another whale and walrus hunt. The walrus are shown on the ice or with only the upper part of their bodies out of the water. To the left is a hut, and a man, and to the right two huts and several men dragging a walrus on shore. (b) Here are shown two herds of reindeer, a man driving a sledge drawn by two reindeer, two huts, an inverted canoe on a frame, with an animal's skin drying above it, a man and a dog in pursuit of a polar bear, and an elongated plant design.'
