Cotton handwoven cloth, ulos ragi hotang, in three vertical design panels, the two outer in maroon with narrow black edge to the selvedge, the centre panel black, divided into even stripes by thin white single thread. Ikat flecks within stripes. Central panel divided from those at each side by a vertical stripe of fine cotton supplementary warp. At each end bands of continuous supplementary weft in geometrical designs of metal thread, the bands separated by bands of supplementary weft in red and yellow cotton thread in simple designs. At the warp ends the weaving gives way to a patterned twined border, sirat, of maroon red and cream cotton in a geometrical design. Warp ends tightly twined into long fringe. See Sibeth, Achim. 1991.
