necklace (neck ornament (personal adornment))

Necklace of a twisted piece of iron, formed into a circle, and the two ends bent over to form hooks, which are joined to complete the necklace. Worn by woman who works the bellows for the blacksmith to protect her from paralysis when she steps across tuyere in workshops. Discarded tuyeres kept in safe corner of workshop so that if the passer by is not protected by a necklace will be paralysed. His wife need not to wear such a necklace as she is protected by her husband's bracelet. The blacksmith obtained the scrap metal from Thompson's Falls town heated it section by section and twisted it with long handled pliars and his hammer.(Cr 1). Made by a Lkunono blacksmith.
