Sample consisting of three pieces of embroidery in blues and white on a black satin textile. The samples depict flowers and foliage in shaded satin stitch with some knot stitch detailing. The background is cut to follow closely the shape of the designs. Stuck to a piece of white backing paper on which folding lines suggest this was original packaging.

Acquired by the donor's aunt, Miss Hilda Sparks, at turn of the 20th century
