Shield, rectangular sheet of treated mithan or possibly buffalo hide ridged longitudinally and showing concave faces. Decorated with tufts of animal hair, red, black or natural fixed by gum through holes at the top; four pairs of straw tassels; and faint painted coils in white pigment. Plaited and twined framework of rattan and cane on reverse, forming, grip and thin strap. Coiled loop of cane/rattan at the top.
