totokia

Light headed example of a curved club of so-called 'beaked battle hammer form', with an expanded head comprising multiple studs that fringe a concave conical striking point. The form of the head is believed to represent the fruit head of the Pandanus. The handle section bears a tubular panel of tavatava zig zag decoration and the central section of the shaft is bound with multiple turns of coconut fibre cordage.
