Painted wood donkey cart model with netting underneath at the front. On the floor of the cart is a painted representation of the sun with a smile on its face. There are four painted panels, two on each side of the cart. On the left side are (front) a couple dancing, two musicians, a man and a woman, the man with bagpipes, and another spectator in the background. An inscription above reads 'DIVERTIMENTO.........'; (rear) two men, arms akimbo, wearing cummerbunds. On the right hand side are: (front) 3 figures beside a well, the centre one a woman with a pot on her head, the men each wearing pendulous headgear; (rear) a couple dancing accompanied by a seated guitarist, with a church in the background. Above this panel the legend 'MASSIMO' [?] is painted. The cart is accompanied by old exhibition label in printed black capital letters on blue card, reading: 'MODEL OF BULLOCK CART. PALERMO. SICILY'. 1030 x 730mm.
