Figure of Vaisrawana, the guardian of the north, in high relief on a semicircular base with what appears to be lotus decoration in red, blue and green. The figure has pale brown skin, blue hair, a thin beard and a moustache. The right hand is raised but broken off at the wrist. The left hand holds a mongoose, spitting jewels. he wears a green coat and sash, red trousers, black Mongolian boots with white soles, Bodhisattva jewels, a five leaf crown with high pointed peak and ‘wings’ in red, blue green and yellow. He is riding a white lion with blue hair. The figure is set against a double aureole. There are two inscriptions on the reverse, “Guardian of the North and King of the demons who bring disease”.
