"Quilted Board" Reeding or Riddle Board use to prepare oats & water batter before cooking oat cakes. Yorks, Lancs, Cumbria. A roughly square-shaped board, made up of two sections of dark wood, pinned together, side by side. Two corners of the sqaure have been cut off, between them is a small protrusion, perhaps a small handle, with two holes pierced through it. One of the surfaces is carved with a diagonal pattern, the other is plain.
