Single-edged sword, dao, with wooden grip bound with cotton cord, brass pommel, and brass ovoid disk-like guard. Blade is of steel, slightly curved and pointed, two grooves near the back on each side. Wooden scabbard covered with shagreen, mounted with brass fitting on locket and tip. Two brass rings with a crest affixed on top and an iron chain would originally have encircled the upper section but have since become detached.
