sandal (clothing: footwear)

Single sandal (pokkuri), a type of shoe for a woman. Made of one piece of wood hollowed out at heel end and sloping up at front. Painted brown with designs of maple leaves and geometric shapes in black and gold (now yellowed). Thong (hanao) of hemp, covered with orange velvet with a design of various sizes of dots produced by absence of pile. Beneath the toe section where the thong comes through there is a metal cover in the shape of a plum, attached with two nails. 208long x 88 w x 47 h.
