Oval tobacco or patch box made from brass and copper with a hinged lid. The lid is decorated with a scene of a man seated at a table talking to a woman and a young man who are standing at the door. The inscription below appears to indicate that the young man is saying goodbye to his father. The base of the box has an engraved scene of a man, probably the young man, with a walking stick and what appears to be a child, or possibly a woman, in a barrel on his back.
