Root stock club fashioned from the lower half of a sapling. This type (Clunie 17B) retains the rounded beginnings of the tap root and side roots, and is splitting down the shaft. The handle is engraved with a distinctive pattern of rough circumferential cuts in four panels. The whole piece has been varnished with a red varnish at some time.
