mirror (toilet articles)

Circular mirror with an integral rectangular projection for the handle, which is wrapped in bamboo. The face of the mirror is made in polished bronze. On the reverse there is raised decoration depicting a pine tree, a bamboo clump, a nanten (or nandin) tree, two cranes flying, a river, flowers and plants, and creatures resembling turtles in shape. There is an inscription on the left side reading 'tenka-ichi-?-?-inaba-no-kami-shigeyoshi', the last probably being the maker's name. 'Inaba' is a region of Japan.

There is a cream, rectangular label with the mirror and case, which reads: 'N/N. / Asia / Japan'.
