Taxidermy case of two adult male and four adult female Common Quail. According to Edward Hart, writing on 6 May 1927, 'Far left (no 1): adult female, September 27th 1886; (no 2): adult female, December 6th 1890; (no 3): adult female, October 5th 1886; (no 4): adult male, October 1883; (no 5): adult male, September 1885; (no 6): adult female, September 4th 1916. Shot by me on Tuckton and Wick farms, Christchurch. Sexes differ; summer and winter plumage the same. Mounted by me'.
