Taxidermy case of adult male and adult female Northern Lapwing. According to Edward Hart, writing on 30 April 1927, 'Middle (no 1): adult male: June 1864: summer plumage; right (no 2): adult female: June 1864, summer plumage. Nest, eggs and young. The Lapwing will gently pat the earth with its toes, this disturbance causing the worm to rise on which it feeds. Sexes differ; summer and winter plumage differ. Mounted by me'.
