423.121.22 End blown labrosones with curved or folded tubes with mouthpiece

Narsiṅgā (narsinga), horn of rolled sheet copper with a seam. Made in two curved separable sections for use in C or S shape outline. The proximal section is encircled by two plain rings. The two rings encircling the distal section, and the similarly shaped bell rim are filled with rattling objects. At the middle ring the distal section is inserted 36mm into the proximal one. The other joints are lead soldered. Integral mouthpiece. Sheath for mouthpipe. There are small rings at the centre and the bell for a strap. The instrument is painted with red arabesques. The horn produces harmonic series from fundamental to 7th harmonic with ease. Pitch: Bb (A=440) approx.
