Single action 'clarionet' concertina. English system. Serial number 21676. Oval silvered brass plaque: 'C. Wheatstone & Co. Inventors, Patentees and Manufacturers, London.' Oval nickel plaque on left-hand: 'Wheatstone 21676.' 7.38" diameter AF [across front?] x 9.75" long - stretched hexagon shape, ebonised wood ends, simple frets, bevelled, muslin backing. 56 keys: 28 each side. Domed nickel (two glass replacements), bushed. Later straps with Wheatstone labelled clips, large nickel screws. Seven-fold black leather bellows, with pairs of valve holes in bottom folds. Brass bedded reeds with fishtail steel tongues, in double layered pan on base of action.
