Siyotanka, courting flute.
This instrument is a courting flute associated with Sioux Indian culture. Traditionally, each young man adopts a personal melody to play on his flute, a call sign to attract the attention of the woman he wants to marry. This example was made by Sal Hernandez in 1991, who provided information about the wood used. He also said that most of the flutes he sold were bought by Sioux Native Americans.
