421.221.12 Open flutes with internal duct with fingerholes

Bass recorder, maple body, brass crook and plastic mouthpiece. Body of recorder is in three sections: head joint, main joint and foot joint. Crook enters head joint at rear of cap. Six fingerholes and one brass key, mounted on an axle and pillar. Fingerholes differ in size and are spaced in two groups of three at the top and bottom of main joint. No inscriptions.

The recorder is a duct flute that is classified according to the system of Hornbostel and Sachs as an 'open flute with internal duct, with fingerholes'.
