Pangolin

Piece of skin from side of body to show the scales of a pangolin (Manis sp. Manis is a genus of Asian Pangolin. Some Pangolin species can also be found in Africa.)
Pangolin scales are made of keratin. They are the only mammal known to have these thick keratin scales covering their body as a defence mechanism. They are nocturnal and feed on termites/ants.
