Double-barrelled miniature cannon in dark metal, of 'mariam' type, mounted on a four-wheeled carriage. Each barrel has a knob-shaped 'gaganok' behind the breach, with raised bands. There are several raised bands around the barrel on each breach, to either side of a bird-shaped projection (foresight?) which covers the touch-hole. There is a pair of raised bands round the barrel to either side of the point where the barrels pivot on the carriage and further sets of bands near and at the muzzle, which is slightly flared. Between the two barrels towards the front is an additional smaller barrel also with a knob-shaped gaganok and a raised element around the touch hole. This small barrel has four 'legs', two on either side, poinitng towards the breach end of the cannon. These legs are flat on the surfaces of the lower barrels, and have five-toed 'feet'. Behind the small barrel and facing the muzzle end of the cannon is a figure of a dog, standing with mouth open. Plate XLIVa in Shaffaruddin's article (see note) is the one most closely resembling this piece. A nice example.
