A pipe, pipe stand and tobacco box. The pipe has a small brass bowl with long bowl-stem on a bamboo stem and brass mouthpiece. The underside of the bowl-stem and mouthpiece are inscribed with Japanese characters. The inscription on the bowl stem reads 'Murata', the maker's name, and on the mouthpiece reads 'ukeai', which is the equivalent to 'made by'. The pipe holder is carved out of black wood. The tobacco box is made from two valves of an abalone shell held together with a piece of cord at the top at each side with a lid of water buffalo horn. The pipe holder is connected to the tobacco container by the cord with an ojime made from a seed.
