Figure of Guanyin, Goddess of Mercy, dressed in long robe and wearing a head scarf, seated on a lotus pedestal. Her right hand is placed before her chest with the thumb touching the middle finger. Her left hand is holding a scroll. The head is made of plaster. The body, clothing and lotus pedestal are made entirely by mixing rice flour with water, kneaded and rolled out to very thin sheets and then manipulated to form those features.
