Wooden model of a two-section junk such as would have been sailed on the Chinese Grand Canal, which runs from Beijing to Hangzhou. Made in two sections, to join at the centre, and fully rigged, with a sail.
Purchased from George Worcester, the editor of 'The Mariner's Mirror'. Instructions for assembling the boat were printed in Volume 41, page 222 of the Mariner's Mirror 1955. The roof of matting was made by W. Majer, of North Wembley.
