Cast brass figure of the god Krishna, in a flute-playing posture, as Venugopal. Red, gold, and blue-black detailing and lines indicate clothing and ornament. His hair is swept into a topknot. He stands on an integral square plinth. There is no flute. There are two labels on the base: 'Ben 2165' is handwritten on one, and the second label has a printed frame and 'From.....INDIA' at the bottom. This label has '9 Horniman [...]' handwritten in blue. It is very similar in style to 430, which is from the Colonial and Indian Exhibition. This is almost certainly from the same source.
