Carved ivory figure, small okimono, of three humans and a dog, depicting a quarrel between two men and a woman. The woman is hitting one of the men on his head with a geta (shoe). He is losing one of his geta and his kimono is falling off his shoulders. The woman is wearing a Japanese towel, and holding the man's kimono. The third man is crawling under the man's legs. Lying in front are an umbrella, a geta and a stick. This item illustrates a Japanese saying 'A couple's quarrel cannot be eaten by a dog.' 55 h x 60 w x 47 d.
