wrist guard

Cylindrical creeper stem bracer/guard for archer made from plaited cane.

Has the note been correctly transcribed? If so, it’s slightly wrong. It should read ‘Kampong river’ and it relates to Moyne’s third visit in January 1936. Images of these armguards can be seen in the portraits of exchange partners in Moyne’s 1936 book Walkabout plates 12 and 13 following page 38. The material may be orchid vine.
