6 keyed Flute. Index card reads: Flute in D. COLLARD & COLLARD, LONDON, Marked "C.Nicholson's Improved" and numbered 3474. From Mr. Lionel Fuller, belonged to Richard Fuller of Chichester 1788-1855. Six silver keys; foot-keys plug-type, body-keys round and cupped; mounted in silver blocks. Cocus; silver mounts; has been exposed to light. Metal tuning-slide and metal-lined head. Movable cork stopper. In inlaid wood case with mop. Collard & Collard were dealers. Probably the work of one of the Prowses, and about 1830. Secure mounts and restore action of all key-work. Re-lap head-joint tenon. Head split (both sections) and playing seems badly affected. Clean generally. Repair lock of case. Overall: 668.5 mm, s. to f.: 606 mm; Bore at head joint: 18.5 mm, at middle joint: 15 mm, at foot joint: 12.5 mm, at foot: 11 mm
