boat

Model ship's boat, bokura.

PY Manguin’s comments are based on his fieldwork in the traditional shipyards of the northern atolls of the Maldives and interviews at Male in March 1988 (results partly published in P.-Y. The bokkura was still to be seen in the 1980s. It was up to 3 m in length and was poled in the shallows to reach the larger boats at anchor.
