Larger of two hide pouches with a hide drawstring, possibly a paintbag. Part of a medicine bundle.
The following comments result from a research visit made by Alison Brown, Anita Herle, Alan Pard and Charlene Wolfe, to examine some of the Horniman’s Blackfoot material (5 March 2015) : Small bag used for ochre for face painting. The bag is in rough shape. It has the tabs that are typical of Blackfoot on the bottom two corners. AP notes that whoever owned this essentially sold an empty bag, as there is no ochre in it.
