Hide shadow puppet in the form of a first rank civic official wearing a mandarin's costume with a rank badge containing a crane. Decorated overall with polychrome pigments, pierced detailing and hair attached with metal wire forming the beard. Detachable hat made of hide, decorated in similar way to the rest of the puppet with a decorative attachment fixed in place with metal wire and a hide band to attach the hat to the puppet. Articulated waist, legs, arms and hands and operating rod attached to the puppets back with two smaller rods attached to the puppets hands.
