Model of a Kabuki theatre. The sign above the doorway at the centre reads: 'Nakamura za’, the name of the theatre. The actors’ names are on the three vertical banners. The tall, thin wooden signs may show the title of the play. Over the doorway on the left and right are ‘adults’. Hanging over the middle doorway, the sign seems to say ‘not for rent’. The inscription on the tied box is (so far) indecipherable, perhaps some kind of promotion. There is a row of red lanterns across the front, under the eaves.
