Man’s handwoven mantle, bet bose, formed of three panels stitched together along selvedges. The two outer panels have a red ground with seven vertical strips of patterning formed by manipulating the black and white or red and white warp threads around the weft. The central panel is narrower, a cream ground, with vertical strips of warp patterning as well as discrete embroidered or supplementary weft motifs in many colours. Towards each end is a horizontal band of tapestry woven multi-coloured patterning with vertical slits. Warp ends loosely twisted into groups to form fringe. Paper label sewn on right side reads Rp 350,000 Kurang Rp 300,000, indicating price and discounted price. Style formerly reserved for those of noble rank.
