A large Botswana basket with a lid of very fine quality made from tightly coiled mokola palm. The tight weave makes the basket watertight. The basket is bulbous is a large opening at the top. The object is light with diamond decoration in a dark and medium brown pigment. The lid is round with a knob in the middle and a lip. The rim is medium brown and there are diamond and triangle patterns on the top.

The basket was purchased as a tourist item by the donor and may never have been used.
