Carved wooden mask of Barong Bangkal. The boar's head is painted in black, the red gums around the mouth surrounded by a band of black with hairs indicated in white curled lines against the black. Inside of nostrils painted red, end of snout pinkish brown with a delictae star shaped ornament painted on it. Prominent canines in lower jaw, and large but less prominent in upper jaw, painted white, the sharpness accentuated by a gold and grey flash in the side. Bulging eyes with rings of yellow and orange, black at the centre. Above each eye is a semicircular brow panel decorated with a painted pattern chiefly in pink and gold. Bristles at the front and top of the head. The ears are separate pieces which slot into the sides and are help in place by wooden pins. The jaw is articulated, the top and bottom parts of the maks being joined by a horizontal peg which slots into holes in each part. Unpainted handles in the lower part with which the dancer can manipulate the mask.
