Boy’s silk kimono for ichi-go-san ceremony for a five year old. Body of a single width of fabric. Dye applied by brush (yuzen technique) with black at top across the shoulders and below the waist. Middle area has yuzen painted design in several colours of pine leaves and hawk on a pine tree. Some gold thread embroidery indicating cones and texture of bark. A family crest, mon, on shoulders and one on each sleeve at back. Long sash attached to each side of front opening in same design.
