Wooden marionette from Burma representing a male clown, U Shwe Yoe, with articulated phallus, hands, lower lip, and eyeballs. There is a separate piece of wood for the neck. The body parts are unpainted, apart from black hair, black and white eyes, black eyebrows and red lips. Two bunches of hair issue from either side of the back of the head. He is wearing a skirt of brown silk ikat, similar to the borders of the jacket of 2007.341. The skirt has a front opening, presumably for the phallus to protrude. He is also wearing a jacket of pale green figured silk, with a lower border of brown silk ikat and a front opening border and cuffs of purple silk ikat, all decorated with bunches of coloured sequins.
Three strings issue from the top of the head. Two holes in the back of the neck have later loops of string added. Two strings run from each arm, one at the hand, one at the elbow. There is one string from each knee, and one from the phallus. Many of the strings have been replaced. The strings are attached to a wooden handle, or dalet.
