Ake woman's jacket, the body of which is formed of a rectangle of black cotton fabric folded over at the shoulder, cut at the front to form opening and sewn at lower sides leaving armholes. Sleeves formed by additional pieces of same fabric sewn to armholes. Each rectangular sleeve has two main parts, joined by a band of blue fabric. Similar blue fabric reinforces the neck opening. Ends of sleeves, sides and lower hem are decorated with narrow band of embroidery chiefly in pink red and white. A cowrie shell and velvet tufts at lower part of each side from which hang tassels made from strips of plain cotton fabric in red green white blue and pink.
