Baby carrier in the form of a square of fabric sewn above a very wide sash and with a further narrow rectangle sewn the other side of the sash, to be pulled up against mother's back. Two straps of braid at top corners of each rectangle. Both square and rectangle are of burnished indigo, the outer square panel with intricately embroidered appliqué panels, square at each corner and circular at the centre, in white with pale pink green red and magenta detailing. A finely woven border strip in black and white next to a narrower strip in pink, orange, blue, and magenta on a white background. The sash is plain blue-black. The smaller rectangular panel has an appliqué border woven in black and white with pairs of animals along the edges. In the lower section there is dense embroidery in geometrical patterns. From the centre of the base of the upper panel hang five strips of fabric, two blue, two red and one white, from which are suspended Chinese coins with square hole at their centres.
