Apron from the Bouyei people, formed of two sections of black cotton sewn together down central vertical seam. Decoration applied to one face in form of strip of black and white braid echoed by narrower strip of green and white. These follow the shape of the top of the apron which has a small panel embroidered in turquoise, green, pinks and purple in flower motifs. Four short lengths of cord hang to either side. On reverse, lower edges are faced with strips of fabric dyed in indigo and decorated in a batik pattern.
