hat

Circular padded woman's summer hat consisting a circular section forming the crown and two rectangular pieces stitched to the circumference, a shorter piece at the front and longer piece at the back. The latter piece has the lower corners folded over at the front so that a triangular section of red lining is visible to either side of the face. The top and rear sections are on a natural coloured base fabric, densely embroidered in a maroon background with circular motifs in pink, orange and other colours. The centre of the crown is in orange, yellow, pink and grey concentric circular motifs. A small yellow bat motif is on either side behind the triangular flaps. The front rectangular section has a zigzag embroidered border top and bottom and geometric embroidered motifs repeated in a horizontal row below. The stitching in this panel is smaller and of different type from the rest of the hat. Strip of brown velvet binds the edge of the hat across the forehead. Lining of crown and rear in printed floral fabric.
