Khutital. Pair of cymbals.
The cymbals are held by the string, which is grasped by the thumb, index and middle fingers of both hands. They accompany devotional singing, also keeping the beat in ritual dance performances in the namghars (prayer hall) of the satras, the monasteries devoted to the god Vishnu. They serve a similar purpose in the dances of the Mishing and Deori communities in Assam.
