Haba, (haik, Bah. Ind.), a container for liquid, usually associated with the tapping of the lontar palm tree. Here for drinking the fresh sap. Made by Ama Jo Haba. Folded up lontar palm leaves with a handle and strap. In the associated photograph, Genevieve Duggan is drinking out of the palm leaf container. The maker of the container, Ama Jo Haba, sits to her left in the picture.

A container formed of a folded palm leaf, with a handle across the middle which is formed of lengths of palm leaf. Around the handle is tied a length of twisted plant fibre.
