Wooden door carved with ancestor figures. There are 12 carved figures, two crocodiles, two round shapes, and zigzags around the edges. There are metal joints at the top and the bottom, holding together the two pieces the door is made from. Makers explanation of the carving "The figures represent the telem (the first inhabitants of the Bandiagara cliffs). the round shapes represent the lid of the Dogon food plate, the two crocodiles are toems for the village of koundou. The zigzags represent the waves of water that passed through the region before." When purchased this door was the gate to the small yard of Abinem Dara's house in Kundou Guinma.
