Mey, reedpipe with cylindrical bore, made of wood stained black.

The mey can be used to accompany singing, as a prelude or interlude the vocal line. It is normally played indoors, paired with the dümbelek goblet drum. Sometimes the player will shake the mey to create a vibrato sound.
