'The Judge'

Glove puppet with a central rod. A mature man with black, bushy eyebrows and a moustache; wide, open eyes; beaky nose and small, protruding ears. He has a measured benign expression. He is wearing a high, pointed black hat with a white and gold band tied in a bow. His robe (KHALAT) is striped in various greens, black and grey and is trimmed in gold on the chest and at the cuffs; padded brown-pink hands.

This puppet may be used to play 'The Judge' in the story "Wrongly Imprisoned" (possibly an alternative title for the story "Blame Breaks Stones" - see note) although it could be used to play a variety of other characters also (is a 'type' character). His facial features differ to some of the other Khivan puppets which have exaggerated features (e.g. 2001.217).

Local name for puppet: KUGURUK.
