Bonnet, presumably for a young girl, made of black cotton fabric trimmed with blue embroidered edging; the lining is of blue and white striped fabric. The bonnet is tailored with a part to cover the nape of the neck, and a scallop-edged flap at the top of the front trimmed with blue embroidery. The flap is caught down in five places with pink and green thread. The bonnet is embroidered with pink and green floral designs depicting lilies and has two orange cord ties to secure the bonnet on the child's head.
Mrs Elsie M Howells donated several Chinese costumes and dolls that previously belong to her Aunt, who was a medical missionary in China for almost fifty years, from the late 19th century to the 1940s.
