boot (clothing: outerwear)

One of a pair of thigh-length boots. The leather sole is wrapped around the foot and joined to the upper, gathered at toe and heel. The leather for the upper is L-shaped and stitched together to form the foot. Above this is what appears to be a separate piece of leather folded down and decorated with patterning in strips of coloured leather, with a border of scalloped blue leather. Above the foot the boot has been decorated on the exterior in several bands. The first is a piece of cotton cloth embroidered with silk flowers and leaves in many colours. Above this is a section of blue cloth covered with white crochet work. The top of the boot is black fur. The textile covers a fur-lined interior.
